Notion is the product most people picture when they think of a team workspace, so this is the comparison most people ask for. It is far broader than Bladbase. Here is every difference I could verify, with the rows where Notion is ahead marked as plainly as the rows where Bladbase is.

Where Notion is the better choice

Where Bladbase is the better choice

One more difference, left out of the table on purpose. Bladbase refuses an API write to a page someone has open in the editor, rather than merging or overwriting it. I could not find in Notion's documentation how it treats the same case, so I make no claim about it.

Moving between them

From Notion, export as Markdown and CSV and import the zip. Nesting, page links, images and attached files carry over, and each database arrives as a page holding its table; views, relations, formulas and board layouts do not. Importing the same export again updates the pages instead of doubling them. Going the other way, a Bladbase page exports as Markdown, HTML or PDF, and a whole workspace exports as an archive.

Plenty of teams will keep Notion for projects and databases and use Bladbase for the documentation their agents write to. Nothing stops both MCP servers sitting side by side in one client.

Questions people actually ask

Is Bladbase a Notion alternative?

For documentation, yes. For databases, project tracking, offline apps or a company-wide wiki with SSO, no: Notion is much broader, and the comparison above says where. Bladbase is a narrower documentation workspace built around people and AI agents writing together.

Can Bladbase import my Notion workspace?

Yes. Export from Notion as Markdown and CSV and import the zip: nesting, links between pages, images and attached files carry over, and each database arrives as a page holding its table. Views, relations, formulas and board layouts do not. Import the same export again and nothing doubles.

Does Notion work with AI agents?

Yes, in three ways: Custom Agents that run inside Notion on schedules or events, a hosted MCP server that currently uses OAuth, and a REST API that takes integration tokens. Bladbase differs in one place: an outside agent connects over MCP with a bearer token, as its own named member of the workspace.

Can an agent edit part of a page in Notion?

Yes. Notion's MCP tool notion-update-page replaces exact text and can insert at a position, and its REST API works on blocks. Bladbase replaces a section by its heading, or ticks a single task.

How much does Notion cost compared with Bladbase?

Notion lists Free, Plus at $10 and Business at $20 per member per month ($8 and $16 billed yearly), with Custom Agents billed separately in credits. Bladbase is free during the beta and has not announced pricing.
